A Band Shirt Kinda Day

Just the other day, my boyfriend surprised me with an early birthday present! He had bought tickets to go on a river boat cruise that went down the Missouri River and included a lunch buffet! I had never been on a cruise before so I was thrilled. I didn't really know what to wear since he didn't really tell me where we were going so I just decided to wear my favorite Ramones band shirt.

I try to find ways on how to wear my band shirts, and at times its kind of hard to figure out even though they are basic black and white colors. Today, I decided to give my band shirt a bit more of a feminine look and combine it with a green and dark navy blue (looks like black) skirt. In the beginning I felt like it looked a bit plain so I included a stretchy black belt. I had just bought a gold and black bandanna so I decided to include that in the mix. 

 As we sailed through the river we saw some old, rusted, abandoned bridges and scenery from both Omaha and Iowa, seeing how the Missouri River divides both states. It was a pretty awesome experience overall.

Tips on Choosing a Lipstick Color!

Today, I decided to catch a ride on the bus and see where I would end up. I stopped by CVS and went to the cosmetics section. I like looking at all of the nail polishes and eye-shadows and at all of the new products they have in store. I don't usually wear a lot of makeup just some simple black eyeliner, color mascara, and foundation will do the trick. 

But when it comes to choosing what color of lipstick I want to get... that's where I get stuck!

It's not always easy finding the right shade of color, that's why you do a trial and error and see which one goes well with your skin tone and/or your outfit. I personally like wearing colorful or bright colors when I'm out with friends like a baby pink or even black if I want to go more avant-garde. But when it comes down to going to a  fancy dinner or event I would have to tone it down and use a darker color like a dark plum or a ruby red for a classy look.

Then again lipsticks give you a certain look depending on your skin tone, outfit, hairstyle, it all depends on how you want to look.

For the LOVE of Vintage!

    It seems like Vintage items never get old!! They are the new collectibles and the new "hot" items when looking at street style fashion. I kinda stopped shopping at malls just because I saw the same style of clothes in every store like Forever 21, Love Culture, etc. Then again they do have cute clothes so its worth a look.
But when entering a thrift shop, or vintage store you get a variety of clothes. Although they are old and untrendy clothes that used to be worn when it was the "cool" thing to wear, people can make it look popular again. Just add a few alterations and POOF! Its poppin'. Or even the way one wears it can grab anyone's attention.

Here is one of the items that I found while shopping at a Goodwill in Chico, CA. I didn't really make any alterations to the dress but I just accessorized with pearls, bowler hat, and wedges. This was from a photoshoot I did with a really awesome hat company called Goorin Bros. They have all kinds of retro looking hats that take you back to the 1920's and on. Borsheim's Red Carpet Ready Event

Today's event was pretty awesome. They had tables set up for guests to get their hair and make up done by Garbo hairstylists and makeup artists.

So much for being one of the 50th first guests in line, but I was able to get my picture taken on the red carpet :)

I got to walk around and see the pretty jewelry that some of the models will be wearing during Omaha Fashion Week Fashion Show happening on August 19-24 and ended up getting my hair and makeup done by the awesome stylists.
